Lon is a registered patent agent and former Primary Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, with over 27 years of experience searching, preparing and prosecuting patent applications. His diverse work in the mechanical, optical, computer programming and electrical fields, and the fact that he is himself a two-time patentee, gives him a breadth of approach, and an ability to see both sides of the fence, which has proven invaluable in his work with patent clients. Lon has a B.S. in physics with a minor in mathematics and, he holds patents for a chess clock and a sliding glass door greenhouse.

In his spare time, Lon is a keen photographer.
